RESET Program: Fitness, Recreation, and Nutrition

The RESET Health & Wellness Program is a free, 6-week program designed to help indivduals ages 12 and up improve their overall health through nutrition education and fitness activities at the Warford Activity Center. This program is provided by Amarillo Public Health in partnership with Amarillo Parks and Recreation.

RESET Program Features

  • 6-week nutrition education class based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans
  • Topics include:
    • Nutrition in overall health
    • How to read food labels
    • Plan healthy meals and snacks on a budget
  • Weekly healthy recipe demonstrations
  • Free 2-month membership to the Warford Activity Center, which includes access to:
    • Weight room
    • Fitness studio
    • Gymnasium
    • Swimming pool

Class Schedule

  • Tuesdays: 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
  • Thursdays: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Session Dates

  • Winter 2025: January 14th to February 20th
  • Spring 2025: March 18th to April 26th

Walk With Ease walking imageThe Walk with Ease Program is a free, 6-week self-paced walking initiative designed to help individuals reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall health through structured walking routines. Certified by the Arthritis Foundation and recommended by healthcare professionals, this program is ideal for those managing arthritis or anyone looking to stay active safely. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk With Ease.

Amarillo Public Health has partnered with local organizations to provide this program to the community, offering various class locations throughout the year.

Walk with Ease — The RAD Center at Coulter Road Baptist Church, 4108 South Coulter Street 

Dates: October 22 - November 26

Days: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Time: 9:30 am - 10:30 am

 

Walk with Ease — Warford Activity Center, 1330 NW 18th Avenue

Dates:  October 21 - November 25

Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 

Time: 9:00 am - 10:00am
