Time Requirements
You must submit all of the following information together – a minimum of 14 days before the event.
Documentation Required
- Block Party Application – This application must be filled out by a residential property owner within the proposed street closure. (Not an organization)
- Petition for Temporary Street Closure –Property Owner Signatures needed for all properties adjacent to the street to be closed.
Processing Fee
- $30 permit fee (methods of payment shown on Application)

Note:
The Traffic Engineering Department will need to review your Block Party Application to determine if other traffic control devices will be needed in addition to the cones or barricades supplied by the applicant for the street closure.
Festival
Time Requirements
You must submit all of the following information together – a minimum of 30 days before the event.
Documentation Required
- Festival Application – This application must be filled out by the organizer of the event.
- Petition for Temporary Street Closure – Property Owner Signatures needed for all properties adjacent to the street to be closed.
- Map of the Event location
- Traffic Control Plan map (Contact the Traffic Engineering Department at the phone number listed)
- Certificate of Liability Insurance – Ordinance Section 16-3-287(c)(4) on the application for requirements. (On the certificate it should show: Certificate Holder: City of Amarillo and under Description of Operations: Name & Date of your Event). (See Example)
- Copy of Federal Form 501(c)(3) – Proof of Non Profit Status
