Serving on a City board or commission is a great way to contribute your expertise and help shape the future of Amarillo. Many boards and commissions are established by local ordinance or resolution. Citizen committees for specific projects can also be created with the consensus of Council.
To serve on a City board or commission in Amarillo, you:
- should be a registered voter, but Council may appoint someone not registered to vote in the City who brings exceptional subject-matter knowledge or expertise to serve on a board or commission;
- cannot be indebted to the City; and
- Shall be a resident of Potter or Randall County.
