The Amarillo Public Health Outreach Team strives to improve the health and well-being of individuals in Potter and Randall County. Outreach in the public health field has an overall aim to mitigate health disparities and meet the public community where they are. The goals of the outreach team are to:
- Educate on heathy behaviors and practices
- Promote events, activities, and programs that work to reduce poor health outcomes
- Connect community members to additional services and community resources based on their individual or family’s needs
- Increase community awareness and access to all Amarillo Public Health programs and resources

- Adult and Children immunizations
- Sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and free risk reduction supplies
- Education
Who is eligible for Outreach Immunizations and STD Testing?
- Adult immunizations: Uninsured individuals
- Children’s immunizations: Uninsured individuals or those who have Medicaid
- STD testing: patients 13 years old and older (no parent necessary)
Outreach Immunizations and Testing Fees
No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Cash payments are accepted during outreach events.
Immunizations
- Children (18 and younger): $13.75 each (maximum $27.50)
- Adults: $13.75 each
- Children on Medicaid: No charge
STD Testing
- HIV Testing: No charge
Education and Additional Programs

Communicable Disease
Provides education for kids and adults on everything from handwashing, animal bites, to what to do in an emergency.

Healthy Texas Mothers and Babies / Safe Kids
Provides information to keep moms and babies safe. Referrals to get a car seat inspection, free car seat, and mobile crib.

Health Equity
Advocate and assist in healthcare navigation for refugees, parolees, the immigrant population, and populations with language barriers in the community.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness
Helps to educate the community on how to prepare for disasters, hazard threats, or attacks.

RESET Classes
Free health and wellness class and opportunities. For residents aged 12 and up.
