The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds are dedicated to neighborhood improvement projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents. These funds are invested in improving public facilities that offer services benefiting low to moderate-income households within the community.

Renovations of community centers, homeless shelters, neighborhood park improvements, installation of neighborhood sidewalks, and various other infrastructure enhancements are among the projects supported by the CDBG program.

These projects showcase the impactful work enabled by CDBG funding, contributing to the creation of stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities for all residents. Below, you'll find descriptions and pictures of completed projects, listed in descending order by date:

Family Support Services Elevator Project — Fiscal Year 2022-2023

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded the rehabilitation of the existing elevator and elevator equipment in the new Family Support Services building.

Maverick Boys and Girls Club — Fiscal Year 2021-2022

The Maverick Boys and Girls Club received funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to address roof damages incurred due to inclement weather.

Warford Center — Fiscal Year 2020-2021

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) granted funding to The Warford for the enhancement of their HVAC system.

Another Chance House — Fiscal Year 2019 - 2020

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocated funds to Another Chance House for expanding their shelter by 800 square feet at 207 S Van Buren. Furthermore, the grant supported upgrades to the HVAC system and commercial kitchen at shelter 209 S Jackson.
