Zumbathon, Health Fair Set for Saturday

AMARILLO, TX – In recognition of National Latino HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the City of Amarillo’s Public Health Department HIV Prevention Program and Haven Health are hosting a Zumbathon on Saturday (Oct. 19.)

Zumbathon, which includes a resource/health fair, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the Amarillo Civic Center North Exhibit Hall, 401 S. Buchanan St. The event is free and open to the public.

Services available include free and confidential rapid HIV and syphilis testing (with results available the same day), vendor booths and resource fair, BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar, osteoporosis screenings, medication safety, tobacco cessation, diabetes risk education, COPD screenings and adult flu shots. In addition, there will be information available for women regarding how to self-screen for breast cancer.

Zumbathon is made possible by the City of Amarillo’s Public Health Department, partnering with Haven Health.
