Rebecca Erbelding, author of Rescue Board: The Untold Story of America’s Efforts to Save the Jews of Europe, and historian/archivist at United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Rebecca Erbelding, the lead historian for the Americans and the Holocaust exhibition, will discuss how Americans reacted to the plight of European Jewish refugees in the 1930s and 1940s as well as the eventual creation of the War Refugee Board, a government agency tasked with trying to rescue Jews during the Holocaust This Americans and the Holocaust related program is made possible, in part, by the support of Panhandle PBS, and the Friends of the Amarillo Public Library.
