But driving into Amarillo on Route 66, what would a tourist have seen?  What did the skyline of Amarillo look like, and what styles of buildings were present in the city?  Amarillo stood at an American crossroads long before Route 66 came to town.  How did the city's history and relationship with Kansas City influence the skyline?  Join our panel of experts as they bring 1920s and 30s Amarillo to life.  This is a partnership program with Friends of the Cornette Library.  The panel will be moderated by Amarillo Public Library’s own Cindy Wallace and panelists are Nick Gerlich, Melissa Griswold, and Amy M. Von Lintel.  Doors will open at 6 PM with the regular meeting of Friends of the Cornette Library and the program will begin at 6:30.
