Amarillo City Transit primarily runs Monday through Saturday between 6:20 am and 7:00 pm. Holidays may impact the standard transit schedule. 

City Transit is closed for the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

City Transit operates on a Saturday time schedule for the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • President’s Day
  • Good Friday
  • Veteran’s Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve

One Ride is a mobile app designed to provide convenience at your fingertips. With this app you will have the ability to find the approximate locations of all Amarillo City Transit fixed route buses and Panhandle Community buses giving you the convenience of planning your trips accordingly.

You can pay for a single ride when you board the bus or purchase a Day Pass from the Bus Operator. Passes are also available online (allow a few days for delivery), at City Hall (601 S. Buchanan St.) using cash, check, debit, or credit card, or at the ACT office (801 S.E. 23rd Ave.) with a check or exact change. Monthly passes, offering unlimited rides, are available the last week of each month and the first two days of the following month.

Yes, you can also pay at City Hall (601 S. Buchanan St.) or the Multimodal Transfer Station (509 S. Bowie St.) with cash, check, debit, or credit card. Payments at the ACT office must be made by check or exact fare.

Monthly passes are $30 and are available for purchase during the last week of each month and the first 2 days of the next month, allowing unlimited rides.

A Reduced Fare identification card allows eligible individuals to access discounted fares on Amarillo City Transit.  

To obtain a Reduced Fare Identification Card, visit one of our designated locations during office hours and bring the proper documentation to support your eligibility. Our staff will assist you in issuing the Reduced Fare Identification Card, which you can then use to access the reduced fare benefits. For questions about reduced fares, please call 806-378-3095.

Yes, all Amarillo City Transit (ACT) buses are wheelchair-friendly and equipped with lifts that can accommodate up to 1,000 pounds. Make sure your wheelchair meets ADA size and weight requirements. For additional assistance, you can call ACT dispatchers at 806-378-3095 before your trip to ensure the driver is attentive to your stop. If you need to transfer between buses, inform the driver when boarding for assistance.

You can use the bike racks mounted on the front of ACT buses. The racks hold two bikes, and passengers are responsible for loading and unloading their own bikes. The driver will ensure your bike is properly secured before you board. For safety reasons, we do not allow bikes inside the bus.
