City Plan Vision 2045
City Plan — Vision 2045 is a long-range plan that creates a strategic framework to balance equitable growth, quality of life improvements, and public and private investments in Amarillo over the next two decades. This new vision and growth policy framework was developed through an extensive resident-driven process and now reflects the current needs and desires of the community.
Safe Streets and Roads For All
The Safe Streets and Roads for All Plan (SS4A) will provide a framework to enhance safety for all people moving around the area, whether on foot, by bike, using a wheelchair, riding public transit, or driving a personal or commercial vehicle. We are currently seeking feedback from the residents of Amarillo.
2021 Amarillo Parks Master Plan
The City of Amarillo recently adopted the 2021 Parks & Recreation Master Plan to aid in guiding future improvements to parks, trails, recreation facilities, and programs over the next 10 years. Amarillo City Council formally adopted the Park Master Plan on September 28th, 2021.
Public Arts & Beautification Plan
The Public Arts & Beautification Plan is a strategic tool to maximize public art and beautification projects in Amarillo. It provides direction to create a sustainable program, with short-term strategies and opportunities to enhance services citywide.
Hike & Bike Plan
The Amarillo Hike and Bike Plan aims to enhance residents’ quality of life by providing more walking and biking opportunities throughout the city. It identifies a long-term vision for a comprehensive trail network and outlines strategies to focus future trail investment, improve safety, and connect residents to each other and to the places they love.
Downtown Amarillo Strategic Action Plan
Key focus areas are maintaining Downtown Amarillo as the financial, government, and civic center of Amarillo and the Panhandle, attracting residential and urban lifestyle development, reinforcing Downtown Amarillo as an entertainment and retail center, attracting educational opportunities, and bringing family-oriented venues and events to Downtown.
CDS ResIntel Housing Study 2022
This study results from a cooperatively funded effort by the City of Amarillo, the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, Center City TIRZ #1, and the Amarillo Association of Realtors. It seeks to understand the demand for housing and the additional housing supply needed in the context of Amarillo’s economy, demographic trends, and policy environment.
Tri-State Fairgrounds District Master Plan
The Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds (TSF) is a popular attraction in the neighborhood east of downtown Amarillo, hosting various events throughout the year, including rodeos, car shows, and private parties. The Master Plan aims to revitalize the fairgrounds, integrate different users, and connect the facility with the surrounding neighborhood.
Amarillo Area Regional Multimodal Mobility Plan
The Amarillo Area Regional Multimodal Mobility Plan is a strategic, multimodal mobility plan that integrates and modernizes the region’s various mobility network plans into one comprehensive document. It aims to improve the movement of people and goods in a safe and efficient manner, enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors by creating transportation options.
Community Investment Program
This Program outlines investments the City of Amarillo intends to make over the next five years in interests including transportation, community planning, public facilities, public safety, utilities, and information technology.
