Chief Ed Drain directs the Amarillo Police Department through the Administration Division.  The Narcotics Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Special Crimes Unit, Fleet Management, Bomb Squad and Internal Affairs are under direct supervision of the Chief of Police. Chief Drain directs the remainder of the Department through two assistant chiefs, one directing “Line Operations” and the second directing “Staff Operations.”
