The summer months are rapidly approaching and the need to conserve water rises with the heat! In hopes of raising awareness of this need, the City of Amarillo’s Every Drop Counts Poster Contest is underway. To enter the contest, children ages K-12th grade may submit their artwork depicting water conservation.
How to enter: Submit your artwork and completed entry form to any Amarillo Public Library or the second floor of the Simms Municipal Building located at 808 S. Buchanan.
How to win: Theme is “Every Drop Counts.” Artwork should be artistic, positive in approach, and focus on water conservation. Quality of design, creativity, originality, and reproducibility are also factors that will be judged. Poster must be in landscape (horizontal) layout and should be at least 11 x 8.5 inches but not larger than 17 x 11 inches.

Winners will be chosen from the following age groups (current school year):
- K through 2nd grade
- 3rd through 5th grade
- Middle School
- High School
The Grand Prize winner will receive a "Meteorologist for the Day" prize package which includes a Kindle Fire tablet. Other great prizes include:
- Party at AirU (K-2nd grade)
- 10 Wonderland Passes (3rd through 5th grade)
- A $250 Cinergy Fun Card (Middle School and High School)
Deadline for all submissions is Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Winners will be recognized by the Mayor and Amarillo City Council at the May 21, 2019 regular meeting. 13 winners will also have their artwork featured in the 2020 “Every Drop Counts” calendar.
