amarillo city transit code of conduct

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities. To ensure a positive experience for all passengers, on any of our transportation vehicles, passengers are expected to follow these basic rules.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable transit environment for everyone.

You should pay your bus fare or show your pass when you board. Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable—do not lend, give away, or sell them.

Passengers must remain seated and awake while onboard.

Do not distract the driver or disturb fellow passengers. Noncompliance may result in suspension of service.

No smoking or vaping is allowed on buses, bus shelters, or within 50 feet of transit facilities.

Seats at the front are reserved for seniors and customers with disabilities. Use personal listening devices with headphones and keep conversations quiet. Avoid profanity and derogatory language to ensure a peaceful ride. Unruly behavior may result in service suspension.

Keep the bus clean by removing your belongings, keeping feet off seats, and not blocking aisles. Dispose of trash properly and take your refuse with you.

Passengers must be fully clothed and wearing shoes. Service will be refused to those lacking appropriate clothing or footwear.

Do not consume food, alcohol, or drinks while on the bus.

Pets are welcome if they are in carriers or leashed and muzzled. Service animals are also welcome.

Passengers are prohibited from bringing hazardous items onboard. This includes certain items like lithium cells or batteries, gas-powered scooters, car or motorcycle batteries, gasoline/fuel containers, and knives.
