Holiday Schedule

In recognition of the holidays, the City of Amarillo has the following schedule:

  • The City of Amarillo will be closed on Christmas Eve (Monday, Dec. 24), Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1). The next meeting of Amarillo City Council is Tuesday, Jan. 8.
  • Amarillo City Transit (ACT) will operate a reduced schedule on Christmas Eve (Monday, Dec. 24). Passengers can refer to Saturday schedules for times, which can be found online at bit.ly/COAFixedRoutes. Passengers may also call (806) 378-3095 for route and schedule information. ACT will not provide service on Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25). Regular service will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 26. ACT will operate on a regular schedule on New Year’s Eve (Monday, Dec. 31) and will be closed on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1).
  • The schedule for trash pick-up service will not change on Christmas Eve (Monday, Dec. 24). There will not be trash pick-up service on Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25). Tuesday routes will change to Wednesday, Dec. 26. The same schedule will apply for the New Year’s holiday. Trash pick-up service will be provided on New Year’s Eve (Monday, Dec. 31). There will not be trash pick-up service for New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1). Tuesday routes will change to Wednesday, Jan. 2.
  • The five Amarillo Public Library (APL) locations will be closed on Christmas Eve (Monday, Dec. 24), Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1.) All APL locations will be open until 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Monday, Dec. 31.)
