Rick Husband International Airport OVerview

The Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA), managed by the City of Amarillo’s Department of Aviation, is a full-service airport located six miles east of downtown Amarillo. Operating without property tax funding, AMA relies on operating surpluses, passenger facility charges, and FAA grants.

With the 7th longest civilian runway in the U.S. (13,502 feet) and a secondary 7,901-foot runway, AMA offers flights to popular destinations via American, Southwest, and United Airlines. AMA also supports private aircraft with 24/7 service from a top-tier Fixed Base Operator (FBO).

Our mission is to meet the Texas Panhandle’s air travel needs by providing safe, efficient, and high-quality airport facilities. Our vision: to become Texas’s most respected airport by exceeding customer expectations and enhancing the travel experience.
