Group Care Center Procedures and Policies
Daycare facilities licensed by Texas Health and Human Services to care for seven or more children for less than 24 hours per day, at a location other than the permit holder’s home. New facilities and centers that have changed owners must fill out the application form and pay the Day Care Center Permit Fee.

Permit to Operate a Group Care Center
New daycare facilities or those with ownership changes, caring for 7+ children for less than 24 hours, must apply for this permit to comply with Texas regulations. Click here to start your application.
Apply for a Foster Home Inspection
Foster homes and care facilities are used until a permanent placement is found. The City of Amarillo’s Environmental Health Department conducts annual safety inspections, which foster homes must apply for and pay a fee. Click here to apply for a Foster Home Inspection.
