Merry Christmas and Happy New Year: COA Announces Holiday Service Schedule

AMARILLO – The City of Amarillo (COA) has released a holiday schedule for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day. COA wishes the Amarillo community a happy holiday season.

  • City Hall will be closed Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24) and Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25.) City Hall will be closed New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1).
  • The holiday service schedule for the COA Solid Waste Department:
    • Christmas Week
      • Residential customers: All routes will be collected on the normal schedule.
      • Commercial customers: Wednesday routes will be serviced on Thursday (December 26).
      • Brush sites: Brush sites will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
      • Landfill: The landfill will be closed Christmas Day and will reopen Thursday (December 26).
    • New Year’s Day Week
      • Residential customers: All routes will be collected on the normal schedule.
      • Commercial customers: Wednesday routes will be serviced on Thursday (January 2).
      • Brush sites: Brush sites will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
      • Landfill: The landfill will be closed New Years Day and will reopen Thursday (January 2).
  • Amarillo City Transit (ACT) will be closed Christmas Day (Wednesday) and will operate a Saturday schedule on Christmas Eve (Tuesday). ACT will be closed New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1). ACT can be reached at (806) 378-3095.
  • Amarillo Public Library (APL) locations will close at 6 p.m. on Monday (December 23) and Tuesday (December 31). APL locations will be closed Christmas Eve (Tuesday), Christmas Day (Wednesday) and New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1).
  • Ross Rogers and Comanche Trail Golf Complexes will be closed Christmas Day (Wednesday). City golf complexes will be open all other days – weather permitting.
