AMARILLO – Amarillo residents interested in serving on Amarillo City Council can take the first step in the election process beginning Monday (December 16).

Candidate packets will be available at the city secretary’s office in Room 303 of City Hall, 601 S. Buchanan. The packet includes a combination of information and forms combined to help potential candidates through the election process.

The general election is May 3. All five seats on the city council will be open for two-year terms.

The city secretary will take applications for a place on the ballot from January 15 to February 14. A candidate orientation and drawing for ballot placement is February 20.
