Community Relations

The City of Amarillo wants to be accessible and responsive to its citizens.

The Community Relations office is responsible for marketing the City’s services and programs in creative, innovative ways that appeal to the needs of its citizens, making it easy for everyone to be informed, involved and up-to-date on the work of our City government. In addition to communicating with the general public and business community, the Community Relations office serves as the initial City contact person for all media inquiries, along with select public or community resident inquiries, questions and concerns about City issues, operations, programs and services.

The Amarillo Police and Fire departments have separate Public Information Officers that serve in a similar capacity. Citizens with questions or concerns about general City issues are invited to contact Community Relations at (806) 378-3549 or sonja.gross@amarillo.gov.
