Public Meetings Scheduled Discussing City’s Brush Sites

Amarillo, TX – The community is invited to attend a series of meetings about the future of the City of Amarillo’s brush sites. The Public Works department is currently asking for the public’s input as they evaluate the brush sites and possible composting efforts. City staff will be on hand to detail possible courses of action.

The meetings take place at various Amarillo Public Library locations.  All meetings are open to the public and all will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Monday, Aug. 14, East Branch Library, 2232 E. 27th
  • Tuesday, Aug. 15, North Branch Library, 1500 N.E. 24th
  • Thursday, Aug. 17, Downtown Library, 413 E. 4th
  • Monday, Aug. 21, Northwest Branch Library, 6100 W. 9th

The Solid Waste division for the City of Amarillo recently received approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for composting operations at the City’s landfill.
