Amarillo, TX – The City of Amarillo’s Community Development department has a weeklong series of events celebrating and recognizing National Community Development Week to bring awareness to the work of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. City staff has prepared events that will highlight the impact and need of the CDBG and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs to the City, citizens, and Community Development partner agencies.

The CDBG program provides grants to more than 1,200 state and local governments nationwide and funds activities such as housing rehabilitation, business assistance, senior services, and infrastructure targeting primarily low- to moderate- income persons and households.
