2017 Summer Lunch Program Sites Needed

Posted on Mar 16, 2017

Amarillo, TX – The City of Amarillo Community Development department administers the Summer Lunch Program funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) which provides meals to children during the months when school is out. Community Development is seeking additional sites where those meals may be provided to the 69 percent of children in Amarillo who are eligible for free or reduced lunches during the school year.

During the summer months, many of these children do not have access to a healthy meal during the day. Your organization is invited to host a site where children may come during the summer to receive a healthy meal provided by the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD).

For more information about how your non-profit agency, church, or local business may become a Summer Lunch Program site, please contact Kathryn Foster, Program Coordinator, at (806) 378-3005 or [email protected].
