Amarillo, TX – During the last meeting of the Amarillo City Council, changes were made to the public forum – the time traditionally set aside for citizens to address the City Council with regards to matters not on the agenda having to do with City policies, programs, or services.
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, public forum will be received at the start of the regular meeting. The total time allotted for this forum is 30-minutes with each speaker limited to three minutes. The City Council may not discuss these items, but may refer to staff, choose to place the item on a future agenda, or respond with factual or established policy information. In addition to these changes, a City Council member will be available to speak with the public after the meeting has concluded. Those wishing to participate in public forum must first complete a sign-in sheet, available in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall, which should be turned in to the City Secretary prior to the beginning of the meeting.
