City Brush Sites Accepting Christmas Trees

Posted on Dec 27, 2016

Amarillo, TX – Each year, from Christmas to Feb. 1, the City of Amarillo provides its Christmas Tree Recycling Program which helps you dispose of your live tree by bringing it to any of the City’s brush collections sites. City crews will then turn the tree into mulch and afterwards you can pick up as much free mulch as you would like. Those sites are located at:

  • 8745 Helium Road
  • 3401 Broadway
  • 3718 S. Eastern
  • 801 N. Soncy

To ensure the safety of our workers and expedient service, please remove any and all decorations from your tree including the stand. If you are unable to transport your tree to a chipping site, please leave it in the alley directly behind your own property. Do not pile the tree by trash containers, on top of water or gas meters or behind a neighbor’s house. Keeping the area as free and clear as possible during the holiday season may be the best gift you can give your neighbors and trash collection crews.

Trees will be collected by City brush truck crews and will then be turned into mulch. Please note, depending on your location and the pickup schedule, it may take several weeks before the tree is picked up. You can also assist City crews by breaking down large boxes and not overstuffing trash containers and make sure to not place loose trash or bags on the ground around the dumpsters.
